This time, I am learning how to implement web mapping in real-life application. The activity is simply exercise for using ArcGis basemap and Quick Capture to create an app for capture real-life data to mapping the app user surrounding environment.
Development
For this activity, I started by following the Quick Capture App Building Instructions. In building process, I follow the instructions very carefully and make little only change and customize.
Step 1: Build a feature map layer and define the map legend.
Step 2: Create a QuickCapture app
Step 3: App testing - Testing the app by Capture random photo the and upload it to ArcGIS.
Step 4: Uses and Results
On September, 17, I went out and in the process of do some business and shopping, I try to use the my QuickCapture app as normal daily app taking photo as I go. When using the app I realize the app is capturing the live status of transaction input and GPS location. However, I am not using the app all the time and I set that the app only access the GPS location when I use it, and not many data was capture. It was a fun experience. If I want to create personal QuickCapture app, it may be for research or storytelling.
Great work! Keep this quick capture app in mind for your final project. For your final project, you'll have to tell a story of some sorts or create a web mapping app of some sorts.
